About Us

Volumetric Insight was founded by two friends from Rotterdam; Fouad Hayoun, co-founder and software entrepreneur and Jochem Ajendouz, a mechanical engineer with an affinity for NDT, specifically ultrasonic testing. Volumetric Insight will perform NDT and implement quality assessment solutions to cater to clients in the industry.

Fouad has started his first company at the age of 26 and this venue is now a thriving software development enterprise, providing educational software to governments and industrial parties. Jochem acquired his passion for ultrasonic testing during the course of his education where, during study-assignments, he was part of a team that developed a completely new way of measuring tensile stress in bolts. After discovering this wonderful field he graduated on his start to finish development of an FRP testing methodology and participated in the “Student Company Of The Year” contest as part of the Excellence Programme of the Rotterdam Academy.

The founders realised what their combined knowledge could mean for making maintenance better for their clients. They recognised that they could combine the computing power of 25 software programmers, an AI, statistics and their computing model to lift the field of quality assessment on FRP assets to new levels and decided to be found Volumetric Insight B.V.

Since the founding of Volumetric Insight, two more professionals have joined the team as partners. Ruben/Vitor Ferreira has joined the team to be CEO. His background in industrial management in the chemical sector will be of value during accreditation/certification procedures. The next partner to join Volumetric Insight was Wilco Leidelmeijer. His 20 years of experience working in NDT and vast knowledge of ultrasonic testing makes him the perfect technical manager for Volumetric Insight.

The vision of VI is to start up performing asset integrity assessments on FRP assets, while further developing the platform to be able to predict degradation trends in FRP storage units and tubing. After rollout of Composite Insight; the FRP integrity assessment method, the bolt tension measurement system and top drive inspection tool will be developed to cater to clients in the energy-industry. If requested, the 3D bolt scanning tool can be developed in a matter of days to cater to specific requests from clients.
