Bolt Insight

To provide a service that gives our clients insight into the state of their bolts and studs we can use custom tools and phased array ultrasonics to volumetrically map the bolt or stud. This method will allow us to completely 3D scan the bolt or stud for any (fatigue related) flaws and corrosion, in service and without the need for disassembly!

If you provide us with the dimensions of the bolts you need scanned, it is no effort to produce the needed tools and be set to perform an initial assessment.

What about tensile stress?

(In process of development) If your assets depend on bolt connections for structural integrity we can give you remote insight into the bolt load in your assets connections.

To help clients in the offshore energy-industry improve their maintenance plans, we performed a feasibility study into a new way of determining the load placed on bolts with ultrasonic equipment. This new way of determining bolt load was designed during the pursuit of Jochem’s engineering degree. With a team of fellow engineering students he designed a computing model to theoretically calculate the tensile stress occurring in bolts and together with this team of students designed a way of doing this remotely to give clients insight into the bolt connections in their (offshore) constructions.
